"Old Club...New Attitude"

Our mission is to be the "in-town" Club for tennis, fitness, swimming, dining and social activities. We are committed to deliver exclusive facilities and services that hold value to our members.

It is true Oakwood is in transition. The current process of seeking a developer/investor to develop the club's golf course property will take time. Concurrent to the success of this process, Oakwood will undergo a restoration and expansion project relating to its club grounds and facilities. It is true a different club may emerge but the opportunity does exist for this transformation to be quite flattering and attractive.

During this transition it is important to learn the facts. Starting with our Shareholders' meeting in February 2008 followed by multiple fireside chats in early spring and a special meeting held in August, our club's Board of Directors has attempted to engage its members and shareholders with accurate information. As time unfolds the surrounding neighborhood community and city leaders will gain greater access to the emerging idea of a new development on our historic property. Oakwood recognizes its unique place in the very fabric of Lynchburg and is committed to ensuring the successful and sustainable future that it richly deserves.
